Hex's Binome Biscuits
Ingredients/Stuff you'll need:
1 3/4 cups
flour
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp double-acting baking powder
3 T Crisco vegetable shortening
3/4 cup milk
sifter-thing
large bowl
pastry cutter*
rolling pin
rectangular cookie cutter
pan
oven
Procedure:
Sift dry ingredients together in bowl. Put in shortening, and cut it in with pastry cutter* until pieces are about the size of dimes. Pour in milk, and stir until it comes most of the way off the edges. If it's still dry, add up to 1 T of milk. DON'T STIR TOO MUCH! Roll dough on to...uh...place you plan to cut it on. Make sure there's some flour on it to keep dough from sticking. It (the dough, not the surface you plan on cutting it on) should be about 1/2 inch thick. Cut dough with cookie cutter, and place biscuit on non-greased cookie sheet. Bake at 450° for 12-15 minutes. Eat. Cackle gleefully.
*If you don't have a pastry cutter, you can use two butter knives. Hold one in each hand, facing each other and criss-crossed in the middle. Draw them across each other in the mix, like scissors. Believe me, it works!
